Location: Although this position does support some teleworking; the selected candidate will need to be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Littleton CO or Sunnyvale CA or King of Prussia PA, and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.

What does this role look like?

PCB Producibility Checker reviews the Output files to be sent to a Fabrication Supplier for compliancy to Specifications identified on the Fabrication Drawing, IPC Class Standards, and Lockheed Martin Guidelines. Producibility Design for Manufacture aspects and electronic rules compliance are verified. PCB designs range from 2 layer quick turn test boards to Space qualified high layer (>24) count rigid and rigid-flex with blind/buried/micro vias, RF design, and impedance control.

Key activities you will accomplish in this role

Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers. Findings are detailed in a DFM Report that leads to resolution prior to release internally and prior to sending to a Supplier for Fabrication.
Perform PCB Layout Design and working on resolving Supplier issues are both a possibility in this role depending on experience and availability of design work.

To be effective in this role, you will need

5+ years professional experience; 3+ years with Masters degree.
Should have a good working knowledge of engineering release processes.
Designs are developed with Zuken and Xpedition software and controlled on PTC's Product Data Manager.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
Demonstrated experience in PCB design or PCB manufacturing.
Knowledge of IPC Standards IPC-2221/2222 and IPC-6011 or similar.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel).

Desired Skills

Experience with design/fabrication/assembly of space electronics and/or rigid flex and/or RF
Design experience using any of the major tools such as; Siemens Xpedition, Cadence, Altium, or Zuken.
DFM Review Experience using CAM tools such as CAM350, Valor, or Viewmate.
Knowledge of Design or Fabrication or Assembly specifications such as IPC-2221/2222/2223 or IPC-6012/6013 or IPC-600.
Ability to review PCB and Assy Drawings complicate with Drafting Standards, Geometric Tolerancing, and change management release packages.
Experience working with Fabrication and Assembly Suppliers and the ability to respond to issues or concerns.
Experience in failure analysis (FA) using tools such as x-ray, CT scan, or cross sectional analysis.
Experience with checking drawings against drafting standards; Corporate or Industry.
